Record high! WZU won the first prize of the 2020 Zhejiang Science and Technology Award and other 4 prizes
On the afternoon of June 15, 2021, the Zhejiang Provincial Science and Technology Awards Conference was held in Hangzhou. WZU has won 5 awards, including 1 first prize, 2 second prizes, and 2 third prizes, setting a record high in the number of awards.
The project "Eco-friendly Distributed Wastewater Treatment and Utilization Technology System" undertaken by Professor Min Zhao of our university won the first prize of Zhejiang Science and Technology Progress Award. Professor Min Zhao has been engaged in research on ecological treatment of water pollution, eutrophication mechanism and control, etc. He led the team to conduct in-depth basic research by identifying the shortcomings of existing decentralized domestic sewage treatment technology, and undertook major national science and technology projects. A series of key technologies and special equipment with independent intellectual property rights have been developed which have been used in nearly 560 domestic sewage treatment projects across the country, making important contributions to the national “ponge” city construction, beautiful village construction, aerospace industry, etc.
The project "Key Technologies and Application of Laser Enhanced Manufacturing of High-end Equipment Core Components" led by Professor Xue Wei, and "Technology and Application of Coastal Soft Ground Disaster Prevention and Control under Complicated Environment-Load" led by Professor Yu Chuang won the second prizes of Zhejiang Scientific and Technological Progress Award. "Research on the Metabolic Regulation Mechanism and Preparation Technology of Polysaccharides and Active Ingredients Containing Carboxyl Groups" led by Professor Yang Hailong, an "Research on the Synthesis of Transition Metal Carbene Catalysts and Carbon-Carbon (Hetero) Coupling Reactions" led by Professor Wu Huayue won the third prizes of Zhejiang Scientific and Technological Nature Award.
In recent years, Wenzhou University has attached great importance to the overall research capacity and championed the coordinated development of basic research and applied research, and the simultaneous advancement of natural science and engineering technology research. Relying on the national and local joint engineering centers and other approved national and provincial key scientific research platforms, WZU undertook a number of national major key projects including water projects, and produced a series of high-value scientific research and technological achievements with completely independent intellectual property rights. In 2020. WZU was rated as one of the first contingent of national intellectual property pilot universities.
