Students Achieved Good Results in International Criminal Court Moot Court Competition (ICCMCC)
The team from Wenzhou University won the national third prize in the 2023 International Criminal Court Moot Court Competition (ICCMCC) held from March 18th and 19th, 2023.
ICCMCC is one of the International Law Moot Court competitions promoted by the International Criminal Court and held in the six official languages of the United Nations. It is also the fiercest competition with the largest number of participants among the competitions using six official languages. It is the top Moot Court competition in the international criminal law community and one of the most influential Moot Court competitions in the international law community. It aims to enhance the attention of college students to the international situation, deepen their understanding of the fundamental values of justice, freedom, equality and security advocated by international law, promote the research and development of international law in China, cultivate international talents, and enhance global exchanges. The qualification trials of ICCMCC in China is organized by China University of Political Science and Law (the competition this year is held online), and the international competition is usually held in The Hague, Netherlands.
Th competition this year was co-organized by China University of Political Science and Law and the International Criminal Court, attracting nearly 70 teams from Peking University, Tsinghua University, Beijing Normal University, China University of Political Science and Law, etc. The team from Wenzhou University won the national third prize, beating the rivals from Anhui University, Jinan University, Shanghai University of Political Science and Law, and East China University of Science and Technology, etc.
Wenzhou University attaches great importance to the cultivation of talents in the legal community with international perspectives and cross-cultural communication abilities, and has made it an important goal of its discipline development. This prize won by WZUer in ICCMCC fully demonstrated the successful education of the university and the professional abilities of students. It not only brought honors to the university, but also enhance the faculty’s confidence in training students for competitions.
