WZU’s Delegation Visited EAH Jena in Germany

To strengthen the ties with our friendly universities overseas, expand scientific research cooperation and exchanges between both sides, and enrich the cooperative mode of student exchanges, Zhang Jian, Secretary of the CPC Committee of WZU, led a delegation to University of Applied Sciences Jena (EAH Jena) in Germany for investigation and research on the morning of August 28, accompanied by XIA Chunyu, Director ofStrategic DevelopmentOffice, HUANG Wenhao, Director of the InternationalRelationsOffice, BAO Hanli, Dean of the Overseas Chinese College, and WU Mingge, Director of the Experimental Teaching Center of theCollege of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. The delegation was warmly welcomed by Prof. Steffen Teichert, President of EAH Jena, and the two sides had a sincere exchange of talks.

 

During the meeting, President Steffen Teichert introduced the development and achievements of EAH Jena, while Secretary Zhang Jian presented the unique characteristics and international development of WZU. Building upon the foundation of previous friendly cooperation, both sides signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement.

 

The delegation engaged in discussions with Prof. Matthias Förster, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, Dr. Danny von Nordheim, Director of the International Office, and Prof. Peter Dittrich of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology. They exchanged ideas on further promoting student and teacher exchanges and planned to resume the research workshop activities between the two sides which were suspended due to the pandemic.

 

The delegation also had profound discussions with Prof. Juana Vasella, Deputy Dean for Teaching and Learning of the Faculty of Engineering and Management, Prof. Ronny Gerbach of the Faculty of Science and Technology, Prof. Christian Erfurth and Prof. Christoph Koch of the Faculty of Engineering and Management. They explored ways to consolidate and deepen the research collaboration between the two universities, aiming to expand the scope of cooperation in academic disciplines and research areas.

 

Accompanied by Prof. Ronny Gerbach, the delegation visited the newly established VR laboratory and the automotive manufacturing laboratories, where VR projects and research workshops are being carried out.

 

President Steffen Teichert accepted the invitation from Secretary Zhang Jian and expressed his intention to visit WZU at an appropriate time.
