Zhuang Liangliang, a postgraduate student studying statistics published a paper in the international journal as first author
Zhuang Liangliang, a year-three postgraduate student studying applied statistics in the College of Mathematics and Physics published a paper titled "Product reliability analysis based on heavily censored interval data with batch effects" as the first author in Reliability Engineering & System Safety, an international journal in the field of system reliability and security that is ranked first-class by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, with Impact Factor of 5.04.
According to Professor Xu Ancha, the supervisor of Zhuang Liangliang, this paper analyzes the interval data with heavily censored effects that are common in enterprises, and proposes a novel two-stage score-weighted bootstrap method to carrying out parameter estimation and prediction of the number of failures in a certain period of time in the future. Through various numerical simulations, it is found that the proposed method is better than the other two methods in terms of relative deviation, root mean square error and confidence interval length, especially when the interval data is severely censored. In addition, the researcher also applied the proposed method to the integrated circuit board data, and obtained accurate parameter estimation and predicted the failure of the product in the future. This research result is conducive to the precise control over the the inventory of the company, thereby reducing inventory costs and increasing corporate profits.
