Lecture Series: How to publish a paper?
On December 30, 2020, the lecture on “Finding the right journal and paper writing”was held in Room A609, Information Building, North Campus of Wenzhou University. Zhang Runqiang, a year-three postgraduate student at the Business School, delivered a special lecture to the other students.
Zhang Runqiang introduced five topics, including the classification and characteristics of journals, and how to find themes for paper writing, what needs to be paid attention to during the writing, and how to publish the paper.
Feedback for the lecture:
Li:
I learned the difference between SCI, SSCI, CSSCI-indexed papers, and understood what the core journals are. In terms of thesis writing, Zhang has sorted out the structure of the thesis for us. The two most important parts are the research proposal and research design. Writing these two parts is the key to completing an excellent thesis. In the end, Zhang explained the preparations for applying for the doctoral study, and I started to think whether I am suitable for this journey.
Cao:
I am grateful for this lecture. Zhang provided some examples from daily life for writing articles and finding themes, reminding us to find inspiration in life. Finally, he introduced in detail what should be written in each part of the article. It is indeed full of useful stuff.
Qiu:
It has been three months since I came here to pursue my postgraduate study, but I am still confused about how to read the literature and how to find my research direction and write a valuable article during the postgraduate period. So, this lecture came at the right time. First of all, reading literature as much as possible is necessary, but the focus should be on the papers in some excellent journals. Secondly, I should not discard classic works and theories, especially the theoretical framework. Finally, the paper is to express the thought and research problems, and I should be sensitive enough to pay attention to the abnormal phenomenon and think about the reason behind it in order to apply what I have learned.
