Excellent Performance of WZUer in the 17th “Challenge Cup” National University Students Extracurricular Science and Technology Competition
From March 26th to 29th, the finals of the 17th “Challenge Cup” National University Students Extracurricular Science and Technology Competition were held online. Students from WZU won 3 second prizes and 3 third prizes, and obtained the qualification as sponsoring universities. Our university also won the “Outstanding Organization Award.”
The work “How to achieve rural revitalization by returning migrant workers—based on the research on Zhejiang, Anhui, Jiangxi and Guizhou provinces” submitted by School of Marxism, “Research on the medical diagnosis method based on improved extreme learning machine” by College of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, “The AI education training system based on intelligent robots” by College of Electrical and Electronic Engineering won the national second prizes. “Linking rural cooperatives and collaborative services – investigation and research based on the trinity comprehensive cooperation” submitted by Business School, “Fundamental frequency/Raman functional composite crystal design and efficient frequency conversion application” by College of Mathematics and Physics and “Linking supply and demand, coordinating the real and the virtual, and creating a new paradigm of nursery services - based on a survey of 3,089 families and 236 nursery institutions in the country” by the College of Teacher Education won the national third prizes.
In the special session of this competition, “Report on the improvement of university students’ moral and political education by veteran spirit” by the team of College of Teacher Education won the national second prize and the Most Appealing Award. This team, and the team of School of Foreign Studies which submitted “The story of Wenzhou University and the five-star red flag” were awarded the “Top 100 Excellent Team”. In the high-tech session, “Intelligent and efficient arc additive manufacturing leader” by the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering was rated as “star-level” work, and “An intelligent wireless temperature measurement and early warning system for substations” by the College of Mathematics and Physics, “Piezoelectric self-powered wireless road traffic flow monitoring system based on intelligent transportation” by the College of Civil Engineering and Architecture” were rated as the “satellite-level” works.
WZU attaches great importance to the scientific research and innovation of students. Since the launch of the preparatory work in June 2020, it has made great efforts in selecting works, holding work meetings, etc. More than 1,950 students with nearly 300 works participated in this event.
