WZU Delegation Visits Wenzhou-Kean University
On the morning of May 10, the WZU delegation led by Wang Shun, the vice president visited Wenzhou-Kean University (WKU) to discuss issues for deepening the strategic cooperation between the two universities.
At the meeting, Wang Shun pointed out that the two sides should, guided by the concept of mutual benefit and win-win results, establish a long-term cooperation mechanism and take concrete steps, while actively exploring more possibilities of cooperation.
Yan Xiaopeng, the vice president of WKU, said that the two universities should build the cooperation framework, prioritize the work, and promote the cooperative projects one by one.
The two sides conducted in-depth exchanges on teaching and educational affairs, innovation, entrepreneurship and academic work, international exchanges and cooperation in running universities, student enrollment and employment, sharing of teaching resources, etc. and concluded a specific timetable for cooperative tasks.
Wenzhou University is the only comprehensive university across southern Zhejiang, northern Fujian and eastern Jiangxi, and a key university in Zhejiang Province. Wenzhou-Kean University is a Chinese-American jointly established university with independent legal person status and limited liabilities. In recent years, both have made great progress in development and achieved remarkable results. The cooperation between the two universities has a good foundation and conditions as WZU is the parent institution of WKU and they are both in Wenzhou. The two universities have carried out preliminary explorations on cooperation in innovation and entrepreneurship, joint construction of student affairs, sharing of teaching resources, work related to overseas Chinese, etc. It is believed that the long-term cooperation mechanism will lay a solid foundation for the coordinated development of the two universities.
Heads of Development & Planning Department, Undergraduate School, International Relations Office, etc. of WZU, and heads of relevant departments of WKU attended the meeting.
